A European Court (in Belgium) recently ruled that ISPs are at fault for their users’ peer-to-peer file sharing infringements.

It seems the whole basis is that Internet Service Providers now have the technology to block certain peer to peer data packets and whether they choose to use it or not makes the onus fall on them.

This doesn’t affect anything in the US at the moment but it sets an interesting president.
