image I’m rapidly running out of space on my laptop hard drive. No matter what I do, no matter what I delete the 40 gigs here just isn’t enough space any more.  The Windows Updates don’t help either, Windows fills up a good portion of any hard drive.

I’ve been meaning to look up a new, considerably larger hard drive for a long time now but the thing that’s been holding me back is the fact that I’d have to spend days installing the OS, updating the OS, finding my software, installing the software, updating the software, restoring my backup and all that funness.

Apricorn Products has a solution for me [click here] with the Drivewire USB to IDE/PATA/SATA Adapter this is how they term it:

"DriveWire is the ideal solution for transferring the data from a desktop or notebook PC to a new hard drive in a few easy steps. It makes what can otherwise be a daunting and tricky process, painless and easy."

For about $40 you get the connection kit, and Apricorn’s EZ Gig II software.

Nice idea and not too expensive!  I think I’ll check it out when I get around to buying a drive.
