I use SlideShare from time to time to share presentations. It’s a fine service and does what it’s supposed to.
When I checked my email first time this morning I found this waiting for me”

“We’ve noticed that your slideshow on SlideShare has been getting a LOT of views in the last 24 hours. Great job … you must be doing something right. 😉
Why don’t you tweet or blog this? Use the hashtag #bestofslideshare so we can track the conversation.
Congratulations,
-SlideShare Team”

“Oh, nice” I thought. I didn’t go out and tweet about it, I didn’t blow my own bugle or anything.
I decided to follow up on the email and see just how many views my profile had when I found this on the front page of the slideshare site:

Now, I’m normally all over the April Fools and can often spot them a mile away. But who would think of this one?! add two zeros to a users’ views. hmmmm.

There are a lot of people none-too-impressed with this one, take a look at the comments here.

What do you think?
