Well, not exactly an app it’s being termed as a “Mobile Webb Application”. To you and I it’s pretty much a mobily accessible web site.
WWDC isn’t normally a hub of excitement, it’s a developer conference and the excitement among developers is relative to APIs, Apps and coffee.
iPorn had a rather good idea when they let loose a bunch of bikini clad girls on the developers at Apple’s WWDC this year of course the promotion got quite some attention. After all it’s not every day that Apple Developers get to meet a real life girl.
Apple does have stringent guidelines regarding what they’ll allow in the App store (i.e no porn) however they really can’t govern iPhone compatible web sites.
According to the press releases (see below) iPorn is trying to promote more than adult content. It would seem they’re gearing towards social networking too.
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., June 12, 2009 — “You could be
watching free porn right now,” teased the iPorn Bikini Girls
to the thousands of people lined up around the Moscone West
building in San Francisco waiting to enter Monday’s opening
day of Apple’s World Wide Developer’s Conference. The
bikini-clad girls, who paraded in and out of a horse-drawn
carriage throwing mini-footballs and t-shirts promoting the
launch of the iPorn mobile web application for the iPhone,
were met with a warm welcome on the chilly morning. Throngs
of attendees were taking pictures with the sexy girls while
registration on the free iPorn mobile site grew past 35,000
members by today.
iPorn mania began on Monday morning when iPorn launched the
first adult web app developed using Apple specifications to
take advantage of iPhone’s unique multi-touch and
accelerometer motion sensing display innovations and will
benefit from the faster processor announced for the new
iPhone 3S. iPorn provides its adult users with social
networking capabilities similar to those found in YouTube,
MySpace and Facebook. Adults can view thousands of x-rated
videos for free and sign up as a member to upload and share
videos. Members can rate videos, exchange private messages
with each other and even send videos to their friends’
phones.
The mobile iPorn site is meeting with rave reviews. One site
proclaimed that iPorn “is the best reason to upgrade to an
iPhone 3S,” while another stated that iPorn’s video
“resolution and overall quality seemed superior on the
iPhone than on the bigger monitor.” However, the feature
that might hold the greatest appeal to iPhone users is the
thousands of free adult videos available for viewing.

iPorn mania continued Monday night at San Francisco’s famed
Gold Club where the company hosted an unprecedented 9-hour
“un-official after party” packed with invited Apple WWDC
attendees. However, the launch festivities were not without
controversy. A planned afternoon appearance by the iPorn
Girls on their horse-drawn carriage was abruptly cancelled
when the San Francisco Police Dept threatened to revoke the
carriage company’s license, even though a permit was
granted. Then at 9 p.m., the completely packed Gold Club
removed all iPorn banners, balloons and bikinis from the
club citing pressure that was placed on them by a certain
external party. Nevertheless, iPorn packed the Gold Club to
its full capacity and the party rocked on as the mobile
