To me, this is a no-brainer. I’m kind of kicking myself for not thinking it up.

There’s a ‘Green’ Traffic Light on the Yanko Design blog. It’s remarkably simple.

It’s a single light box with a circle of LEDs (Red, Amber, Green)and a solar panel on top.

Of course, the Solar Panel charges the light and the LEDs indicate the old stop, get-ready, go, etc.

Of course it makes perfect sense. There’s only one light set to illuminate, this saving energy and drain from the Solar Panel charged battery.

LEDs last forever and are much brighter than traditional bulbs. image

Why do we need 3 lights on a traffic light anyway?
