Are you ready to upgrade your Verizon Wireless phone? Thinking about making the jump to  a 4G Smart Phone but not ready to shell out 199.99. Thanks to LG you can have your cake and eat it too. For 79.99 on a new 2 year agreement you get the Lucid, the new 4G LTE Smart Phone powered by Android. Check out the review to see if this could be the phone that brings you into the Smart Phone ages.

SCREEN:

The Lucid by LG has a 4” IPS LCD screen that is coverd in Corning’s Gorilla Glass for superior scratch protection.  The resolution is 480x 800. The screen on the Lucid is extra bright for those occasions when you use the phone outside. With a brightness of 700 nit, this screen is the brightest on the market. The screen is very responsive to touch.

CAMERA:

You might think for a 4G phone priced as low as this one, they may have skimped on the camera. Fear not for there is both a rear and front facing camera on this phone. Lets start out with the rear facing camera. This phone has a 5MP HD camera capable of pictures up to a resolution of 1920 x 1080. There is a LED flash, and Auto Focus. There is a .3 megapixels front facing camera that is good for video chats, or taking some great duck face self portrates.

BATTERY LIFE:

The Battery is a 1700mAh battery that is rated for 8 hours of normal use. With some tweeks to the backlighting and lots of Wi-Fi use I could get around 7 hours out of one battery. If you need a little more juice for you phone VZW offers a 3000mAh battery and case to almost double your battery size and life.

UNDER THE HOOD:

The LG Lucid is powered by a 1.2GHz Dual Core Snapdragon Processor. There is 1 GHz of onboard RAM and 8 GHz of Onboard Storage. There is a microSD card slot that can handle up to 32GB cards.  This combination makes for a quality phone at a low price.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

LG has finally released a new 4G Smart Phone that is affordable to all. The phone has subtile styling cues on the side to distinguish it from other candybar shaped smart phones.  This phone is comfortable in your hands and the build quality is good. Data is quick on the VZW 4G LTE network. One downside to this phone for people who have to have the latest and greatest is that the Lucid ships with Andorid 2.3.

The LG Lucid may be the perfect phone for a first time Smart Phone buyer. The price is right (79.99), you get the fastest network around, and the support of VZW behind it.
