In a very strange way the Chevrolet Volt is kind of like driving a Golf Cart.

Because the Volt is driven by an electric motor the drive is remarkably different to other vehicles on the road.

There’s no gear change. There’s no sudden torque.

Very similar to driving a golf cart – a fancy, expensive golf cart but the principle remains.

Press your foot on the ‘gas’ pedal and it goes.   Press harder and it goes faster.

Simple really.

While the Volt won’t break and 0 – 60 records it really does have get-up-and-go – it has no problem overtaking when it needs to.

There’s an awful lot of overly technical information about the motors, generators etc.
