Kids contract is up and they keep begging you to get an Android phone like the rest of his friends have. Thanks to Verizon and Samsung you can get your kid a Samsung Galaxy Stellar. This 4G Android 4.0.3 phone gives your kid everything he could want, tons of free games, Amazon MP3 and App Store, Google Music, Play Store, and blazing fast 4G Data speeds. You can make you child happy with all of this and it won’t cost you a single penny for the phone. Right now the Galaxy Stellar is available for free with a new 2 year contract. Check the review below to see if this may be just what you kids are looking for.

SCREEN:

The Samsung Galaxy Stellar has a 4.0 inch capacitive multi-touch screen that will display up to 16 million colors. The pixel density is 233 ppi. This is at the lower end of smart phones. Don’t let this stat sway your decision as the phone still provides a good picture for both video’s and for picture viewing. The Stellar has a slightly larger screen than the other newer Android phones that VZW is offering for free at this time. The screen works good for video’s and doesn’t cause much eye strain during movies.

CAMERA:

The Galaxy Stellar has both front and rear facing camera’s. The main camera is a 3.2 megapixel with auto focus, smile detection, and several other features you find on all Android phones. The main camera can only take VGA video at 30 FPS. Also there is no flash so this phone has limited time and lighting that you will be able to take decent pictures. The picture quality in good light is quite respectable for a cell phone. No you wouldn’t use this phone to replace your digital camera but you can’t complain about the quality. The front facing camera is 1.2 MP and works well for the odd Facebook profile picture or a quick video conference.

BATTERY LIFE:

The Galaxy Stellar has a 2100 mAh battery that gives this phone good battery life. The phone is rated for up to 17 hours talk and 216 hours standby time. I fancy myself a heavy user. My data is over both 4G (most of my area is completely covered in 4G) and Wi-Fi. I managed a couple of days of 9+ hours of use on a single charge. Most days averaged 7-8 hours.

UNDER THE HOOD:

Powering the Stellar is a Snapdragon S4 Dual Core Processor. The Qualcomm Processor runs at 1200MHz giving this Stellar good battery life and lag free usage. There is a Adreno 225 processor that helps deliver quick, stutter free graphics. Storage is decent with 4GB built-in. There is also a microSD slot good for up to 32GB more. There is 1 GB of system memory keeping things running smoothly.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

The Samsung Galaxy Stellar is a great entry-level phone for those looking to get into Android, and also for those of you looking for a phone for your teen or pre-teen. The phone is built sturdy and can stand up to some abuse and drops without the screen breaking. The battery life is very respectable for any 4G phone and the screen will get you by for watching movies and video’s on the go.

The Galaxy Stellar is available from Verizon Wireless now for FREE with a 2 year agreement. Check out the site and make your kids happy this Holiday Season.
