Pittsburgh, Pa.—On April 9, from 6 – 8 p.m.Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, in partnership with the Pittsburgh Urban Magnet Project (PUMP), will host Glasshouse Happy Hours, a 21 + event for young professionals, featuring specialty drinks, inspired bites and dynamic special guests. This event is the second of three socials held throughout the year, each with a different theme and local libations.
The second edition of Glasshouse Happy Hours will showcase the Pittsburgh-sourced spirits of Wigle Whiskey, whose staff will be mixing up delicious drinks just for attendees. A guest from the distillery will also be giving a brief talk, along with a dynamic sustainability-themed speaker from Phipps. Science education staff will also be in attendance to introduce some of their superstar composting worms.
Phipps’ renowned gardens will be open for exploration, too, giving attendees a chance to take in the beauty of Spring Flower Show, featuring bright blooms and whimsical props celebrating the role of rain. There is nothing like the splendor of the Conservatory after dark so registrants are encouraged to bring a friend or two, and make some new ones, as they unwind at one of Pittsburgh’s greenest venues.
Registration for Glasshouse Happy Hours is $25 for members of Phipps and PUMP, and $35 for nonmembers, and includes light fare and two complimentary drinks: options are Wigle Whiskey cocktails and MillerCoors beverages. A cash bar will also be available. Reservations can be made online at phipps.conservatory.org, or by calling 412/622-6915 or emailing members@phipps.conservatory.org by April 2; space is limited. The last event sold out very quickly so early registration is strongly encouraged. The next social for 2015 will be held on July 23.
