As you can see, the Steadicam Curve has a curved front and a padded handle for you to hold on to. The top has a mounting bracket to mount your GoPro to. For our testing, we are using the GoPro Hero 3+. The Curve will work with all models of the GoPro.

How the Curve works is by using weight’s to counter balance the weight of the GoPro to keep the camera steady with no bounce when shooting while moving around. as you can see, the top of the handle features a ball and socket joint which lets the GoPro move freely to counteract the movements of your hand.

The way Tiffen has accomplished this is by use of the front curved arm and weight’s in the base to counter balance the weight of the GoPro Camera. Since all models of GoPro’s don’t weigh the same, Tiffen has included 3 different size weight’s in the package. If you need more weight, depending on the case you have for your GoPro Camera, Tiffen sells weights made to fit the Curve for $12.95 plus tax and shipping. The weight kit is also needed for the Hero 4 in Black and Silver.

The base of the Cuve is made to hold their custom weights secure so even when you are moving, the weights stay in place. As you can see, they are round and have rubber O rings on them that keep them secure. They come in 3 different sizes so you can adjust them to your exact needs. This means if you upgrade to a newer model GoPro, you don’t need to get a new SteadiCam Curve, you can just add or subtract weight to give you a perfect balance. Once you have a near perfect balance, the mount has a knob for minute adjustments of the forward and backward balance.

For those weights you might not be using, the handle of the Curve has a place to store the extra weights so you never have to worry about loosing them.

The main handle of the Steadicam Curve is made from plastic as well as the camera mount. The curved front sections as well as the holder for the weights is made from aluminium.

When you are not using the balancing function of the Curve, you can secure the handle to the curved section to work as a basic camera mount. It makes it much easier to hold and shoot video this way.

Tiffen offers the Steadicam Curve in four colors. They are Black, Blue, Silver and Red.

The cost for the Curve is $59.95 with an additional $12.95 for the added counter balance weights.

If you are a user of the GoPro cameras and just not happy with the stability of your filming, This is something you really need to take a look at to take your video’s to the next level.
