IMG_0357Don’t worry – no pictures of me in the shower.

Clubs, and subscription programs are very much a thing.   There are items that we use every day, and run out of regularly.
Instead of being at the whim of the store, hoping that what you normally use is in stock, and that it costs the same as you paid a month ago, we join subscription clubs. We sign up, pay a monthly fee, and get whatever we need delivered right to our doorstep (hopefully before we run out and need it again).

I was offered the change to take a look at Soap.club.
Now, I’m normally more a Shower Gel kind of a guy but I’m not totally opposed to soap (honestly, there’s no reason for or against either, just call me a creature of habit).

Here’s how Soap.club describes themselves:

The Soap.Club offers our customers the ability to purchase our amazing soap online or join our monthly membership service.
Soap is our passion. In fact, it’s our only product. We focus on premium quality soap aged up to 6 weeks and made fresh with pure ingredients that will stimulate your senses. The secret is our old-fashioned cold process soap making. Every product is made by hand, starting from stirring the recipe, cutting the bars and even packaging each individual item. Right away, you will notice the soft gentle lather that feels like lotion instead of rough sharp edges that feel scratchy or rough on your skin.
The cold process method of making soap helps enhance the fragrance. Many of the essential oils and fragrances provide the same properties used in aromatherapy and wellness programs. Feel the guilt free, sensual indulgence of our soap.

You do notice the soap ingredient list:
Olive oil, coconut oil, soybean oil, hemp oil, organic shea butter, water, fragrance blend.

As opposed to my shower gel:
Water, sodium laureth sulfate, sodium chloride, fragrance, cocamide mea, citric acid, PPG-9, tetrasodium edta, propylene glycol, methylchloroisothiazolinone, methylisothiazolinone, blue1, red 33.

Wow, wait, what?   Now, I know I’m comparing a solid to a liquid, but still – it took me longer to type those words than it has this post so far (excuse any errors). I’m drenching myself in that every day?
That is quite thought provoking in itself.

I chose the “Sea Breeze” because I’m a sea kind of a guy.

“Sea Breeze – Image the scent of the ocean. The scent will revitalize you and awaken your scents. The scent is a medium to full scent that also acts as an exfoliating soap.”
The scent is certainly there, it’s not overpowering and I can still smell it on my skin hours later.

The soap isn’t rough, and it does lather nicely. though square it fits nicely in your hand, leaves your skin “squeaky clean”.

How about the “.club” part?  Well, there’s one word I noticed in their description of themselves OR. It’s nice that you don’t have to subscribe to the program to get your hands on their product.   They will sell it to you as a one time thing (no sign ups or anything) if you want.

The plans aren’t cheap.   Subscriptions vary from 1 bar of soap per month at $12.95/month to 5 (4 plus a featured monthly soap) bars for $42.95.  I guess on a family level, less than $10 per bar isn’t bad at all.  There’s free shipping on everything, a (varying) store discount, welcome gift, and other perks too.

You are getting a natural, quality, made in the USA product though.

Ther e are so many different options and scents too. More than 70 different scents makes it hard to choose. A part of their plan subscription lets them surprise you with a scent, or for you to pick from your favorites.

There’s a “Try before you buy” if you’re not sure.

Looking at wat I’m using, and what there really should be in soap, I think I’ll give this one a shot. Check out Soap.club for yourself.
