A big problem with safety on an emergency scene is communication and location tracking.

Firefighters, police and medical personnel already have too much equipment to worry about and carry extra…. stuff… is just more of a hassle.

InventorSpot.com has an article about a "Smart" Suit from i-Garment that will hopefully fix a few problems.

The suit can monitor the wearers’ position vital signs with its built in sensors.

Information then goes to the main command center and is relayed to the scene al via satellite.

Soon to be available in Europe (of course) the suit has been designed with weight in mind (yay!) so that it isn’t cumbersome or adds additional strain to all already weighted down person.

Is it GPS though? GPS doesn’t work too well in buildings.

When can my fire station test it out?
