Your IP (Internet Protocol) address is 
a set of numbers, an address, attached to you and your Internet usage by your Internet Service Provider.
An IP is made up of 4 sets of numbers called Octets, each ranges from 0 to 255.
An IP address is specific to your Internet connection and can, if necessary, be traced back to you by law enforcement and your Internet Service Provider.
Very little you do on the Internet is actually anonymous.
There are pieces of software online that will help hide your IP address.
Hiding your IP will stop certain sites knowing where you are, it withholds information about your service and service provider, it protects your identity and is customizable.
This piece of software is even portable – you can put it on a USB drive and take it wherever you go to maintain your privacy while on the go.
