Isn’t it strange that CES and the Adult Entertainment Expo are happening in Vegas at the same time and right next to each other?
2008 is going to be the year of the et top boxes – you head it here first.
The Fyre Box, brought to you by entrepreneur Estefano Isaias, is touted as the world’s first Adult oriented set top box.
The idea being that you connect the box to your television and high speed Internet connection and you get the hot entertainment on demand right to your TV in DVD quality.
The Fyre box is in beta right now but is expected to launch in April, apparently the box will cost you nothing but there will be a monthly subscription of $10 – $100. Revenue will be shared with producers and media will be protected by DRM.
There are about 20,000 titles available on the box right now.
Again, the Adult Industry is lading the way in technology. Vudu has a box, similar to the Fyre box which serves mainstream media but has 5,000 titles available and NetFlix is partnering with LG to bring out a box later this year.
What would you think of the person who has a box connected to their TV dedicated o Adult entertainment? Imagine the conversations that would ensue when you saw one at your friends house “So, what’s that?” “Oh, you have a Fyre box” where would you go from there?
