You may (or may not) have noticed that a new button was put into the blog side bar a week or two ago.
It’s another analytics thing – Quantcast.com.
Here’s how Quantcast describes themselves:
“Quantcast is a new media measurement service that enables advertisers to view audience reports for millions of sites and services to build their brands with confidence. The free service empowers publishers to demonstrate the unique value of their audiences by tagging their websites, videos, widgets and games for direct measurement.”
I forget how I found out about Quantcast initially but the site was so easy to use and the analytics are always so useful I figured I’d give it a shot.
It takes a day or two for the service to see what and where your site is doing so that it can report but it’s worth it when it does.
The idea being that you add the same ‘Quantified’ code to any of your sites, and online publications – the service then tallies them all into your analytics. You can even build a network of sites under the one Quantcast account.
The graphs and reporting is nice too – I even embedded a graph for you (below) which is actually live, unlike a lot of others that just embed a picture of a graph 🙂
