imageTechCrunch posted an article on “Is Keyword Search About to Hit It’s Breaking Point?”. It’s sosmething I’ve been thinking about for a while and this really brought a few things to light for me.

It was only a matter of time before traditional search engines couldn’t cope with the massive amount of data that is the Internet.

the the amount of information online services grows the way we have to handle it has to change.

As it stands, essentially, the top sites will continue to keep being top sites because they are top sites.

What’s next though. What do we do when dropping a couple of words into a Google Search box just doesn’t suffice?

I really have no idea.  I see things evolving very gradually from what we have now to what we’ll need then. At the same time, looking at the above graph I think that the slope between our current Web 2.0 and Web 4.0 will be steeper as we exponentially build on what we already have, use and know.

What do you think will happen? how will we search the web in the future? What will the great Google have to do to stay on top?
