‘Green’ campaigners are calling for electronics companies to disband with the ‘Stand-by’ buttons on their devices in an effort to promote to reduce the international demand for energy.
The BBC is reporting that utility companies, electronics businesses and consumers are feeling the need to reduce electrical consumption an meet a growing demand.
The cinch in this case is any device that has a ‘stand-by’ button i.e Televisions, DVD players, Stereo systems, etc.
Even though it’s in stand-by mode a television can use up to nearly 2 watts, which might not sound like much but it all adds up.
