I often look at my Twitter stream and wonder what on earth people are thinking when they tweet.

"I stubbed my toe"’ or "I was just in a car accident" or "My house is on fire, should I leave?" or there’s "I’m being mugged, should I give him my wallet?"

What makes a person think that the first thing they have to do after every event and non-event in their lives is tweet about it?
There has to be grant money for a study there somewhere.

I’m not much of a mobile twitterer, not having mobile tweeting has stumped my twittering some and not having Twhirl on the computer just isn’t cool. Yet I live.

I’ve probably done it too – there’s probably a large amount of my stream that people don’t want to see or find useful but I like to think some of what I tweet can be useful.

It’s good to know there is someone else who thinks along the same lines I do. Maybe.
YouTube’s Lisa Nova made a pretty funny, pretty true to life (in some cases) video regarding Twitter Whores.

There are people out there who tweet while brushing their teeth!

I see the need for Twitter, I see many wonderful tweets and twitterers, I know there are some very important tweets and purposes for twittering but do I need to know that you’re eating cereal?
I just think that there’s a line between letting everyone know what you’re doing and where you’re going and telling everyone what you’re doing and where you’re going.

Yes, yes, yes I do know that I don’t have to follow these people (because I know that would be the first comment I’d get) and I unfollow people who excessively crave attention via twitter.

Oh and Lisa is evidently a genius, at least I hope she is.

What do you think?
