A simple, quick search on Google for the word Suicide of course shows a litany of results. There are more than 64 Million results based on the one word query ranging from the usual definitions, wikipedia entries, news, help sites, stories and more.
Atop the Google search results page for both Google Instant and Google’s standard search is a red phone, suggesting a resource for those thinking about suicide.
Google has inserted the phone number and information about the National Suicide Hotline (call 1-800-273-8255) to hopefully head off, help and otherwise throw a helpful lifeline to anyone using the search engine to glean suicide ideas etc.
Excellent work Google – keep it up.
