Pittsburgh, Pa. – Beginning this autumn, Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is pleased to offer an exciting line-up of educational programs for children and their caregivers that focus on ecology, conservation, healthy living and art, including a special Celebrate! series (for ages four through 12); Little Sprouts Single Servings (for ages two and three); and, new for this year, Evening Ed-ventures (for ages six through nine). Covering topics from fall harvest and kid-friendly cooking to garden insects and desert life, these diverse sessions are perfect for any child with curiosity about the natural world.
Each offering a variety of immersive activities, Conservatory exploration time, healthy snacks and opportunities to create take-home arts and crafts, upcoming programs for 2012 include:

· Celebrate!: Options for these 2-hour weekend sessions covering concepts such as fall color change, exercise and holiday traditions include Celebrate! Fall Harvest on October 13, Celebrate! Fitness on November 10 and Celebrate! Holidays on December 15. Times and age groups vary per session. Registration costs $12 for Phipps members and $15 for nonmembers.

· Little Sprouts Single Servings: These one-day camps held on Thursdays or Fridays from 10:30 a.m. to noon highlight plants, bugs and healthy foods, and include: We Love Trees on September 20; My Favorite Fruits on November 16 and Our Desert Adventure on December 20. Adults must accompany children. Registration costs $12 for Phipps members and $15 for nonmembers.

· Evening Ed-ventures: Giving parents an opportunity to enjoy a night out from 6:30-9:30 p.m., either at Phipps or on the town, while kids learn and have fun, these Friday night adventure options include: Kitchen Creations on October 5; Art Party! on November 2 and A Night in the Tropics on December 7. Registration costs $20 for members and $25 for nonmembers; families enrolling more than one child receive a 50-percent discount on the second registration.
