Verizon Wireless Employees in Cranberry Township to Fill Backpacks with School Supplies for Filipino Students

WHO:                            The Verizon Foundation, uses technology to solve critical social issues in the areas of energy management, education, and healthcare.  The Foundation implements programs through grant awards, in-kind donations and the volunteer efforts of our employees.

                           World Vision, a humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families, and communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice.
 
WHAT:                         Verizon employees to assemble backpacks with school supplies for students in the Philippines

BACKGROUND:         As part of its annual ‘Tools for School’ campaign, Verizon employees in the US and around the globe are working together to ensure that students in need have the supplies they need to succeed in school. This year, employees at nearly 200 Verizon locations are donating items to give to their local schools. In addition, through a partnership with World Vision, employees in Pennsylvania are assembling “Promise Packs” filled with school supplies, basic hygiene items, and personal notes of encouragement that will be donated to underserved children.
