TV’s are a staple of the American household. Without a TV, you cant’ stream your favorite shows, keep up on the news, or watch your favorite sports teams. There are many accessories that exist to help you get the most out of your TV viewing. Here are a few of the must-have accessories you need for your TV.
Almost everything today uses HDMI. If you do have an older unit such as a Nintendo or VCR that uses rf splitters, you can still buy these, and most modern TV’s still have a hookup for these rf units. Any receiver unit, streaming box, DVD or Blu-Ray player bought within the last 10 years will most definitely have an HDMI port. HDMI simplifies and reduces the cables from yesterday as sound and HD quality video can be passed through one cable. This can make cable management much easier for larger systems that are running and amplifier or that have many different devices hooked up to the TV.
While traditional Cable and Satellite are still available, the future of TV watching is through internet streaming boxes such as a Roku. These little boxes are relatively cheap and don’t cost you a monthly rental amount like a cable or satellite TV company does. These little streaming boxes also allow you to watch shows from all of your favorite providers as they use an app format similar to your smartphone. Streaming boxes have gotten much better over the years as they provide for 4k output as well as all of the major modern audio codecs for those media nerds wanting to hear the movie in theater quality.
Remotes have also come a long way. Most devices that you buy today can be accessed via a smartphone app if you want to completely remove remotes altogether. However, for those of us that still love a remote, you can buy a single remote that can operate all of your devices. You won’t ever have to worry about losing the DVD player remote in the couch cushions anymore as you will be able to operate everything from one remote to rule them all.
As you can see, TV watching with the right accessories can make a huge difference in your overall viewing experience. So what are you waiting for? Take advantage of some of the amazing things that technology has to offer to make TV viewing as easy as possible.
